    • Proof of wages/income for the most recently completed Tax Year January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019
      • If you are an employee or 1099 independent contractor, you can send copies of pay stubs, earning statements, IRS Form W-2 or IRS Form 1099 and federal income tax Form 1040 and Schedule C, F, or SE.

  • If I qualify for PUA, am I entitled to FPUC funds as well?

Yes. If you are paid at least $1 in PUA benefits, you are entitled to the additional funds that FPUC offers. FPUC payments begin with week ending 4/4/20 benefits.

  • Do I need to request the payment each week for PUA benefits?

Yes. You will need to request each week for your PUA benefits, just like you would if you were requesting state unemployment benefits. Please make sure you are requesting payment on the PUA Certification Access page.

  • What is the first week I am eligible to request PUA payments?

You can request PUA payments for each week you were unemployed or worked reduced hours due to COVID-19. You will need to request payment for that week and all eligible weeks on the day after the week ends. An unemployment benefits week begins on Sunday and ends the following Saturday at midnight. Example: If your business closed on Wednesday, March 13, 2020, you should request your PUA payments for week ending dates 3/16/20, 3/23/20, 3/30/20, 4/6/20, 4/13/20, 4/20/20, etc. For each week requested, you are required to report all gross earnings and income. PUA benefits are potentially available from week ending 2/8/2020, but your eligibility is dependent upon the date you entered in your PUA application as the last day you worked.

  • My business resumed before I was able to receive payment for PUA. Will I still be entitled to PUA benefits during the time I was unable to work?

Yes. Regardless of your current workplace status, you will be able to request your eligible benefits for the time that your job was impacted by COVID-19.

  • Who gets an email for PUA benefits?

Those applicants who were denied their original claim for state benefits and those who have exhausted their state benefits that meet the PUA qualifications.

  • Why have I not received a PUA email with the link to the PUA application?

These are being sent continually as individuals are deemed ineligible for state benefits. Those potentially eligible for PUA must apply and be denied regular state benefits to be potentially eligible for PUA benefits.

  • If my employer filed for me and I was deemed ineligible based on not enough wages, can I qualify for PUA?

Yes, you could potentially be eligible for PUA. Please check back to see if you have received a link in your MyUI portal.

  • How long can I receive PUA benefits?

PUA benefits are available for a period of unemployment of up to 39 weeks, meaning that if you have exhausted regular UC and PEUC benefits in fewer than 39 weeks, you may be eligible to receive assistance under PUA for the remaining weeks within PUA's 39 week period. The last payable week ending date for PUA benefits was June 26, 2021.
