What is the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program?

TAA is a federally-funded program designed to support individuals who have lost jobs due to the impact of foreign trade. The program offers opportunities to build skills and industry certifications to return to suitable employment or change careers.

Discover services tailored just for you at no cost, including:

  • Classroom and online learning (full or part-time) 
  • Industry certifications
  • College degrees 
  • GED (High School Diplomas) 
  • ESL (English as a Second Language) 
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Individual Career Services 
  • Job Search Allowance (after completion of TAA-approved training) 
  • Relocation Allowance (after completion of TAA-approved training) 
  • Reimbursement for certain approved travel expenses

How are individuals chosen for TAA?

Workers must have been laid off or threatened with layoff, no later than June 30, 2022, from a company whose business was negatively affected by trade with foreign nations.
