Unemployment Insurance (UI) Orientation Workshop
What is it?
Claimants must attend, at their local GDOL Career Center, a mandatory in-person, Unemployment Insurance (UI) Orientation Workshop for each benefit year claim. The workshop provides an overview of the rights and responsibilities of claimants requesting UI benefits.
Who has to attend?
Claimants filing for a new benefit year.
Is it required?
Yes. The UI Orientation Workshop is mandatory; however, you are only required to attend once per benefit year. It is our goal to ensure our customers are up to date and aware of the UI Claims process and all responsibilities.
What should I bring to the UI Orientation?
Please bring:
- Your unexpired, government issued, photo ID
- If you are not a U.S. citizen, your alien registration number and documentation
- If you served in the military in the past 2 years, DD-214 Form, Member 4 (copy)
- If you are a federal civilian employee, SF-50 or SF-8 Form and paystubs/W-2
- Your Separation Notice (if you were provided one by your most recent employer)
- Severance documentation (if provided by your employer)
What if I need to change the date or time?
If you need to change the date or time of your UI Orientation appointment, please contact us through our Virtual Agent phone system at 1-877-709-8185 and say "UI Orientation" when prompted.
