The Georgia Department of Labor is committed to assisting individuals who are laid off, looking for a first job, changing careers, or looking for career advancement with comprehensive employment services. Employment services are available through a statewide network of Georgia DOL career centers.

Some of the high value, customized services Georgia DOL provides to individuals at no cost include the following:

  • Online services, including filing an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim, certifying for weekly UI benefits, checking the status of benefits payments, referral to a job opening, and starting a work permit
  • Access to job openings in Georgia, the Southeast, and the nation
  • Self-service resources, including books, videos, pamphlets, phones, copiers, and fax machines
  • Computers with Internet access, and job search and word processing software
  • Job search assistance and job referrals
